Referendum? That would be a threat to “our” democracy. Ie what our betters demand we do. Davos man knows best!

Mr. Hillier, I would be honoured to vote for YOU as Canada's Prime Minister. Your mandate: Make Canada the Sovereign Nation that we all think we already are, but aren't really. We have all been duped and the establishment knows it. Only some of us know it. If you ran - People would vote. Just sayin....

Our governments ineptitude and graft are not aberrations or errors. This is designed to drive Canadians toward a desired outcome. The NA union idea has been floated for years but could never get any traction due to Canada’s high standards of living and relatively stable and sane governments. So how do our master’s “move the needle?” Destroy both. Now the people are nearly begging for this union. We are being herded like so many cattle and even our supposed “leaders” in the freedom movement are taking the bait...it’s really quite sad to see.

You have read the news. Trump is going to do everything he has said. Our boarder isn't a problem. Just how many people are crossing it illegally in either direction? What part of Canada is leaning toward China, and what are you saying? Trump is has declared war on Canada using trade as a hammer and sickle, and wants to annex Canada like Putin has done in Ukraine. Of course there are the fifth columnists (those people under false pretense trying to say and do what is good for another country in their own interests.) Trump just pardons a bunch of Criminals that were convicted by judge and jury. You are in with that? As part of the other 85% of the Canada, I will suggest that you move to the U.S. and leave Canada to the law abiding Canadians. You think what the US has is so great again, again again.

he has once again reitterated that our open borders and immigration is a threat to American security and has requested Canada to remedy this failing or face tariffs. A sensible person or government would recognize that there is merit in what Trump has stated and fix our broken immigration policies and borders.

Great article Randy. Lets hope more Canadians wake up. I think it is hilarious how everyone is freaking over Trump. At least we have a start at shutting our borders. The question should be do Canadians want to be part of China or part of the USA. I kind of lean to the USA.

Absolutely appreciate your opinions about our failing country on so many levels with people not seeing most issues. Randy are you able to explain why people aren't talking about the WEF agenda since our so called top political types are in alignment with that world view that seems to be the antithesis of Canadian sovereignty and our government being saturated with regimes that want to take over our political parties? Also, I saw your interview with Glen from Bright Light News about 15 minute cities and suggested to him re Talk Radio with Rodney Palmer you would be another guest regarding you opinions regarding the 51st state idea. Thank you as always Randy .

Thanks for a pungent and accurate analysis. The reaction of the central Canadian elites is proof of Samuel Johnson’s saying over 200 years ago that (false) “patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel”. They love keeping the Canadian slaves wages low ( and economically illiterate in the case of Quebec language laws). For anyone young and productive and especially recent immigrants , favoring integration with the US is a no brainer. After 10 years of rule by Trudeau Junior and his Quebec acolytes Canada’s GDP per Capita has fallen below that of Mississippi - the poorest state in the union. And on its way to join Puerto Rico and Guam.

Exactly. We escalated this into a an actual trade war to try and score cheap faux nationalist points. Our "intellectual" and political classes are so blinded by hared of Trump they've turned anti-Americanism into actual policy. Juvenile and irresponsible. And infuriating.

Trump was using tariffs as leverage and our lack of diplomatic sophistication and understanding of high pressure sales business tactics led the clowns in charge to over react and make the wrong move. It was simple. 'Yes, we understand. However, we have some thoughts and concerns. Let's work together.'

Worse, they believe they can win a trade war with the greatest economy in world history. It's complete delusional madness. And to be perfectly blunt, we're a satellite of that economic and financial empire.

I said to a friend Canada can't read the room. She reported that they are reading the room. Except they're the only ones in it.

Just like they ignored the wishes of Canadians, they ignored the request of the Americans.

Instead they grabbed their Apache bows believing themselves to be warriors seeking to destroy what they perceive to be a bully. Their aim is off.

It was the response you'd expect from these Lilliputian colonials.

you Mr. Hillier, are a cut above the average Canada, with the exception of our beloved Don Cherry.

Exactly and bravo! to what you outlined, the least of our problems, is Trump. all you outlined is at the crux of Canada and Canadian families. I don't even know who to hit this out of the ball park...and make Canadians hear what you said! Bravo!!

I for one would be happy to have Canada as the 51st state of the United States of America. nothing is worse than losing our IDENTITY here in Canada.!!

Referendums are the way for Direct Democracy to work if 1. If the options are clear2. If it is done quickly by using the internet 3. IF the corrupt party ( influencers) are excluded somehow?
